Just got back from our first ever cruise onboard Thomson destiny. We had a 4 bed inside cabin for 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. People from the ship were at palma airport to receive us and organise transportation to the ship. Embarkation was flawless and once inside the ship we were taken to our designated cabin and our luggages were delivered directly to the cabin a bit later.
Cabin - I had reads the reviews ehre before and I had an idea that the cabins are rather small. Well the cabins are small, especially for 4 people but I should say that avalable space was cleverly utilised and it was very clean and tidy. our cabin girl made sure that the room is kept neat and tidy everyday. Actually the room felt very welcoming when we come back after a days excursion or other activities. Personally I would recommend paying a bit extra for an outside cabin because it is worth it. Deck 3 is better than deck 2 I think.
Staff - were all very polite and smiling. You would always feel welcome wherever you are in the ship. Many of the waiters have a trick or two up their sleeves to show off! I would strongly encourage you to start a conversation with them. The only thing I felt bad about is their long working hours!!
Food - Excellent. The main restaurent is Seven Seas and then there is Lido the 24 hour buffet restaurent. The Seven Seas is a bit formal and hence we ended up having our food mostly in Lido!! The quality of food is very good and there is a lot to choose from. if you are worried about putting on weight, check out the fitness centre which is rather well equipped.
Drink - The only drink freely available is water!! That too we had to pay for bottled water to our cabin. You have to pay for all other drinks. But the good thing is, they are not expensive as they are in the UK. Pint of lager is £2.25 I think, £2.50 for most of the cocktails etc
On board entertainment - There is always some show or other every evening. They are all supposed to be pretty good and a lot of people enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was not exactly for our taste and we did not watch many.
Excursions - They are expensive!! Most of the days exscursions cost about £30 per adult and £15 per child. There are day excursions to Trapani, Naples, Ajaccio, Toulon, Barcelona and palma. Obviously it would be very expensive to take every excursion. The desination desk is helpful if you want to go on your own and they provide even the city maps for you to go about. Personally, I would recommend day excursions in naples (to Pompei) and Barcelona. There isnt a lot to SEE in other places and you can wnder around on yur own. The cable car excursion in Trapani is also rather good.

Any questions? would be pleased to tell you about our experience.
Quality of Food5
Very good. more formal in Seven Seas with set dinner times etc. I preferred more casual Lido and Poolside
Entertainment4
Supposed to be very good and everybody seemed to enjoy it. Not to our taste really so didnt go for many.
Shore Excursions3
Naples. Excursion to Pompei was very good and worth the money. There isnt a lot to see in Ajaccio or Toulon. Excursions are seriously expensive, especially for a family of 4!!
Staff5
Very good, cant add anything more!
Children's Facilities4
There is a kids zone for under 12s but not a lot to do for teenagers!! Blakes has board games and DVDs etc. Basket ball and table tennis are available at deck 7.
Onboard Activities4
There were quite a few such as quiz show, coktail making, ice carving, vegetable carving etc. pools were almost always crowded
Cabins3
Small but neat and tidy. Very welcoming. The vacuum toilet flush failed couple of times.
Overall Rating4

Just another point to add. We had a europen adapter for charging mobiles. camcorders etc but it was useless. The cabin has an american (I guess) electrical socket at 110V. But the reception desk will get your mobiles or camcorders charged, on request.
