This has been our 4th cruise with Thomson and all I can say is that it is excellent value for money. The service, entertainment, cabin, cleanliness and hygiene was second to none. The ports of call were fantastic and we will always have wonderful memories of yet another first class cruise with Thomson. I could mention disembarking was unfortunate as it was pouring with rain and all the suitcases were wet through but the actual holiday makes up for any little discrepancies. After reading through some reviews I can only say that some people just like to moan whatever or wherever they go and their comments should just be ignored. We are looking forward to our cruise with Thomson next year and after discussions with other people would not even consider cruising with another company.
Quality of Food5
We ate anything and everything and anywhere and everwhere and tried food that we had never tasted before and it was all wonderful.
Entertainment5
We loved Peewee (entertainment) he was so funny and Bram who was a brilliant host. In fact all the entertainment team were wonderful and so talented and also so approachable and friendly.
Shore Excursions5
Russia was exceptional and the visit to the Ice Bar in Denmark was a great experience, but we loved every port of call and found the whole cruise first class.
Staff5
All staff were equally friendly and helpful.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activitiesn/a
Sadly we are a lazy pair and did not join in any "activities".
Cabins5
Our cabin was wonderful. We were expecting standard acccommodation for the price we paid but our cabin, although in the lower deck, was excellent, with plenty of room and a double bed and the room was so quiet we slept like babies.

“…I can only say that some people just like to moan whatever or wherever they go and their comments should just be ignored.” How very fair-minded of you. So what you are saying is that if somebody should happen to disagree with you then their opinions count for nothing and you, and only you, are right. I am sure that anyone who has read your so-called review is made up that you have found utopia with the Thomson Celebration and all that sail her. But at the same time I’m sure that the people who have posted here, no matter how satisfied or dissatisfied they are with their own personal experiences, will look at your comments and question what gives you the right to dismiss their opinions with a few ill-chosen words. I assume that as I had the nerve to raise a few negative points, I too am to be ignored. What you have failed to see is that my review was exactly that, an honest, concise account of our cruise that covered the many good points and also the few bad points. Your written piece really wasn’t a review as such, because I suspect having read mine and a few others, you wanted to protect the memory of your lovely holiday by posting an aggressive response in defence. When planning a holiday, I’ll bet that a lot of people choose a resort, or in this case a cruise, based on recommendations. That’s the function of this great web site and indeed the forum that we are currently posting to. I’m sure that nobody will be put off booking a cruise with Thomson simply by the fact that the cases got soaked in the car park on the way home, or that I thought one of the performers was very poor. But they would probably like to know that the waiting and housekeeping staff are absolutely superb, the food is great and can be found in abundance but the head receptionist is a bit surly. Having an eclectic mix of views and opinions is really what counts otherwise why bother with a web site such as this. Just to put the record straight about persistent moaners; our first cruise was around the Mediterranean on the Celebration and it was a disaster. The ship was late back from a refit and things went from bad to worse. Toilets and showers were overflowing all over the ship and the noise of industrial hot air dryers was commonplace. The weather was appalling (we missed Corsica out completely) and the engine noise was horrendous. But we still enjoyed ourselves enough to book another holiday on the same ship, hence the recent trip to the Baltic Sea. We will certainly cruise again and if Thomson offers a cruise that suits us then we will be back – having read the reviews first of course! Happy sailing.
