We sailed with Thomson Celebration in May 2008. This was our first cruise. The check-in process was efficient and we were immediately made to feel welcome by the members of staff. The quality of service was outstanding throughout the cruise.
On-board the activities were varied. The gym was adequate although there were a limited number of machines. The spa was good and the pricing was competitive but it was extra.
The Lido buffet restaurant was good and there was a great variety of food on the menu. The Buffet Grill was a bit limited where fast food was on offer. On all evenings, we went to the Meridien Restaurant which served 6-course meals of exceptional quality and the service was great. We were guaranteed a table and there was little time to wait.
The entertainment was good and very professional although some evening shows were better than others.
We loved the shore excursions and the destinations chosen for the cruise were great. The scenary in Norway is spectacular and the mountains, fjords and waterfalls were gorgeous. We enjoyed the excursion on the Flam railway especially but it was a bit overpriced (£75-80). We loved the Eagles Bend Road trip on Geirangerfjord as well.
Disembarkation was efficient and took less than half an hour.
I would thoroughly recommend this cruise but the only disadvantage was the small size and age of the ship. We sometimes found there was overcrowding in the public areas.
