2 weeks well spent.

We set of with some trepidation having read some poor reviews of the the Celebration. Thomson also say that it is thier most popular ship with a reputation for friendliness. Well, we need not have worried because Thomson turned out to be correct. We found the staff to be much friendlier than our previou cruise-the Spirit- and this helped to allay the fact that the ship is old and creaky! Old does not have to be dirty however and we found the ship to be clean in the areas that we visited. Something was always being painted. The food was good and the entertainment also good but in some ways dated.
Our cruise took in the Greek Islands. The village of Ouia on Santorini and well worth a visit. Our advice would be don't do the excursion, take the cable car and catch a bus for a couple of Euros.
We did book an excursion to Athens as the Parthenon is included and quite some distance from the port. Be careful the Parthenon was very hot when we visited and full of tourists, especially from Cruise Ships!
Otherwise we found our own way about and enjoyed the trip.
The second week was spent on Corfu at what was then a Thomson Gold hotel at Agios Gordios, named ater the resort. Whilst some may be bothered about the number of steps, the hotel has a wonderful location and is worthy of it's 4 stars.
We would not hesitate to return.
In short, a good cruise-not 5 star but it does not profess tobe- and an excellent stay.
Quality of Food3
Ate mainly at the self service buffet which had plenty of choice as we had early reservation for waiter service which could not be changed. When we did use the restaurant the service was excellent.
Entertainment2
Comedian-Maurice Grumbleweed - excellent with the remaining evenings West End type Reviews.
Shore Excursions2
Santorini is not to be missed but the journey to shore is by tender and was very hazardous the day we were there.
Staff5
All of the waitresses were personable and the assigned cabin crew excellent.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activitiesn/a
Although there were activities on board we were ashore most days and did not partake.
Cabins1
Althugh we had a superior cabin it was still small and not somewhere to spend a lot of time.
