Recently returned from a cruise on the Thomsom Celebration. It was for one week, visiting Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Aarhus leaving from the Port of Tyne.
From the moment we arrived at the car park the stress was taken away from us. Baggage was labelled, dropped off and then we parked the car. We were then able to stroll to the terminal building where very helpful staff were on hand to direct us.
After only a short wait we were able to board the bus to take us to our ship. Quickly on board, where a member of staff was immediately available to show us our cabin. Razak, our steward, arrived immediately to tell us important information before we set off to explore.
Everyone on board was there solely to ensure your holiday was perfect, and to be perfectly honest, it was. The whole holiday was well organised and the ship ran as smooth as silk. The added bonus was the weather, which made the holiday complete. The North Sea was literally flat, the only waves were from the Celebration! Food was gloriuos, entertainment professional, everything but everything was brilliant. Plenty of room in the cabin, both the Lido and the Meridian Restaurants were excellent and there was plenty to do on board if that's what you wanted. Would certainly sail with Thomson again.

Surprised to ready the comment by the Browns. We were on board the Celebration on its first outing with Thomson a few years ago when problems with the water and toilets resulted in the cruise being terminated after only a few days. Thomsons could not have done more to help passengers - from laying on hotels, flights and transport to get us home as quickly as possible. If you needed for a taxi from Gatwick to Glasgow, it would have been "no problem". We have travelled on Celebration (and other Thomson vessels) several times since then without incident, but it is reassuring to know that if problems arise, they do everything possible to resolve them. Perhaps you were just unlucky. Robertson, Esse

You were obviously unlucky, I've dealt with Thomson for many years and they have always been very reliable. Unfortunately, mechanical problems do happen, just like any vehicle - it's the chance we have to take, I'm afraid. I'd much rather use a ship than a plane

Thomson Celebration is a fabulous ship but when things go wrong the company must be the worst to sorting out problems. The ship did not arrive to meet us after being in dock. During the following week several other things went wrong including engine failure and lack of staff. When we returned and contacted the company they did not want to know at all. I'm glad that you had a lovely time but hope that nothing goes wrong for you because you will regret going with them in the future
