After ten Cruises we have always found the water on board and in the cabins to be perfectly drinkable, despite being desalinated. You can purchase bottles on board for about a pound a litre, but as I drink about two litres a day I always take an empty bottle with me and fill from the cabin to save the expense. No one has ever stopped me, infact some Cruises have even filled my bottle from the dining room jugs, and some Cruises give you free bottles to take on trips ashore. You can always buy a gallon bottle from a Supermarket and refill from there, but beware of some local traders who refill bottles with tap water. Make sure the caps are well secured before purchase. If you take an empty bottle and don't use it you can always dump it, but best to be prepared. Enjoy your trip.

My daughter and I cruised on the Celebration in April and the water is DFINATELY NOT DRINKABLE//// We found that there were cold water drinking dispensers in the buffet dining area but for most of our week they were Out Of Order. We bought bottled water on board but we found it quite expensive. It was about £1.oo for a 1 litre bottle. We drank a lot of water and bought many bottles ashore and brought them on board and no one bothered us about them. Enjoy your trip. Heather

Water is always drinkable to a local. If you go to any destination it is always advisable to drink bottled water. This is not just because of the chemicals used but also minerals in the water. If a person comes to Britain our wholesome water can have an adverse effect on them usually about a day or two after arrival, so follow the golden rule only drink alcohol or bottled water.

The water supplied throughout the ship is desalinated on board. Its fine if its cold but if you get a cup of it and take it out on deck on a hot day and after a while try to drink it and you can get a very strong taste and smell of the chemicals used to purify it. Thankfully they no longer allow people to fill up their water bottles to take ashore or out on deck. Bottled water on board is reasonably priced and very inexpensive in most ports of call.

There is an abundance of water supplied throughout the ships and the cabin water is drinkable although sometimes not as tasty as you would like. .... Neil
